“The Show Must Go On” A mini and quiet exhibition about the transformation of Yaowaraj, Bangkok Chinatown, at Klantan Museum, located at 20 Klantan Road, Talad Noi, Samphanthawong, Bangkok, Thailand. by Samatcha Apaisuwan
Bangkok’s Chinatown, once a quiet world of lanterns, goldsmiths, and wooden shutters, now pulses with a new rhythm. Over fifty years, the streets have transformed, but never disappeared. Generations of traders, cooks, and shrine keepers remain, their stories woven into the glow of neon signs and the clink of espresso cups. Tradition stands proudly beside reinvention: heritage storefronts host pop-up art, and old recipes find new fame through digital screens.

This is not a place caught between eras, it’s a living stage, where every act blends the past and the future. The curtains never close, the show must go on.
